An Introduction

In 2023, I quit my job at a technology startup. The decision was deeply personal, less a calculated move and more an answer to something stirring inside me that I could no longer ignore. I had spent years in tech and startups, building products and solving problems at scale. But somewhere along the way, I began craving something different. Something slower.

In the first months of stepping away from corporate life, I gave myself permission to explore. To travel. To be uncomfortable. To see what I was drawn to when no one was watching the clock.

One of the first adventures during this time was a heritage trip to Odisha with my sister. We went to ancient temples, appreciated how majestic the Kalinga dynasty must have been and listened to many interesting stories about the ancient kingdoms. What stood out the most for me were the sculptures! Women in the tribhanga pose, fierce lion heads, celestial apsaras, half human, half serpent forms rising from centuries old walls, something shifted in me. A complete sense of awe took over. I lost track of time, moving slowly from one carving to the next. Sometimes marvelling at the sheer artistry. Sometimes letting my mind wander back two thousand years imagining the kings who commissioned this work and the craftsmen who poured their entire lives into executing it and creating magic.

That trip planted a seed. Combined with a deepening interest in spirituality and meditation, it led me here, to Kaivalya Crafts. I have no formal art background as I have worked in the world of technology for more than a decade and half. What I do have is genuine curiosity, a deep respect for traditional craft and a product person's instinct for curation and quality. I work with some of India's most skilled artisans  discovering their finest work and occasionally collaborating with them to bring new ideas to life.

Wise men have said that art and music have the power to touch something in us that words cannot reach. It is my endeavour to bring you pieces that do exactly that, objects of beauty and devotion that carry a quiet, sacred energy into your home and your life.

This is Kaivalya Crafts. Welcome.
